BEACH DAY SCHOOL

Beach Day School, a ministry of First Presbyterian Church, has provided an outstanding preschool/kindergarten experience filled with creative and innovative teaching strategies for over 32 years. We believe that all life is a gift from God and that each child is a unique and wonderful human being. Our goal is to provide each child with a preschool opportunity that suits their individual needs in order to ensure the successful development of the whole child.

Our curriculum, for children ages two thru five, promotes the spiritual, physical, social and cognitive growth and development of each child in a warm and nurturing environment and is ecumenical in its teachings, based on basic truths of the Bible that unite all Christians, that * God is a loving Creator and made all things. * Jesus is God's only Son and is our Friend. * The Bible is a special book that tells us about God. * When we talk to God it is called prayer*.

Activities include learning centers, small group work, large group work, dramatic play, creative rhythmic activities, exposure to good literature, outside play, Chapel and Music. Our teachers are experienced and caring individuals who have a college degree and/or a certificate in Early Childhood instruction and all staff members receive First Aid and CPR training.

Before and After School Programs: Children ages 3-5 may attend the "Early Bird" Program from 8:30-9:30 every morning. Children ages 3-5 may also stay after school for a "stay and play" time from 12:30-2:30, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Children bring a lunch and enjoy extra time with their friends.

Hours: Beach Day School classes are offered from 9:30 to 12:30 daily, from September through May.

Registration: Registration for September begins in the middle of January. Registration is first open to current Beach Day families and members of the First Presbyterian Church, then to the public. All new registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
