FIRST PRESBYTERIAN WELCOMES ASSOCIATE PASTOR

Caroline Anderson Jinkins was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is a lifelong Presbyterian and was baptized at Myers Park Presbyterian Church where she became active in Sunday school and youth group. As the youngest child, her siblings like to remind her that she used to preach to the seagulls at the beach.
After graduating from Charlotte Country Day School, she studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Spanish. She studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain and enjoys any chance to practice her Spanish. During summers in college, she worked as a counselor at her beloved Camp Greystone, a place of faith and spiritual growth where she worked the ropes course and hiking department while ministering to younger girls.
After graduating from Carolina, she moved to Manhattan and joined the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church. She worked for a healthcare consulting firm and traveled weekly to hospital project sites. Her time in New York City enabled her to sense a call to seminary on account of strong church relationships, an inquisitive faith, and a passion for pastoral care. Three years later her sense of call led her to Princeton Theological Seminary where she enrolled the summer of 2007.
Caroline has most enjoyed her seminary education and has no doubts that God is calling her to congregational ministry. Her coursework in biblical studies and theology have allowed her to combine head knowledge with faith she felt in her heart. She is a member of the Company of New Pastors where she has covenanted with a cohort group to share in the transition from seminary to pastoral calls and has piloted a prayer team ministry in her senior year.
Caroline is recently married to a fellow seminarian whom she happened to meet on a visitation weekend to Princeton in 2006. Jeremy is her blessed balance, her encouraging support, and her partner in faith. They are close to their families in Charlotte,New York, and Austin, Texas and especially cherish time with their three nieces. Caroline loves to run, listen to music on U2, laugh at TV shows like The Office, and watch Tar Heel basketball. Caroline feels very affirmed that God has called her to serve as Associate Pastor to the First Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach.
We also are looking forward to welcoming Caroline’s husband, Jeremy, into the life of our church. Like Caroline, Jeremy is a 2010 graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary and is looking forward to sharing his gifts in the Presbytery. Jeremy is from Texas and has a M.B.A. from Tarleton State University. His seminary internship was at Brick Presbyterian Church in New York City. Jeremy’s father is a professor at Austin Theological Seminary.
Caroline and Jeremy will be joining us in mid July.
