OUTREACH

Did you ever wonder what Samaritan House is or what does JCOC stand for? If so, these groups and many other community service organizations will be joining First Presbyterian Church for an Outreach Open House Sunday, October 28th from 9:30 am to 12:30pm in Stanton Hall. Representatives from each of the organizations sponsored by the church will be available to answer questions and give a little insight into the Lord’s mission beyond our walls. The representatives will be available after both services, and Adult Sunday School classes are invited to come during class and listen to First Presbyterian mission work conducted by our middle and high school youth and then meet with more than 10 different organizational representatives.

Organizations attending: Samaritian House, Seton House, Good News Jail Ministry, Equi-Kids, Beach Health Clinic, Seamen's House, Young Life, Tidewater Pastoral Counseling, Makieme Woods, Congo Partnership, and the Red Cross.

Membership: Chairperson and current Elders and church members

Staff Liaison: Pastor

Function: Mission to the Sick, Needy and Friendless in the Community; National and World Missions; Evangelism; Benevolences; Scouts

Recommendations: Meet once a month; Submit a written report on the status of the committee's work at the monthly Session meeting; Monitor budget expenditures of the committee monthly
