HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Many Hands, Many Hearts...One Mission
The Covenant of Virginia Beach, Habitat for Humanity, is again forming a team of volunteers to return to D'Iberville, Mississippi to continue our support of the Katrina rebuilding effort. The need is still HUGE for volunteer labor to restore homes damaged and destroyed. We will once again be working under the direction of the D'Iberville Volunteer Foundation and staying at the DVF camp. Our work plan is to help with electrical and plumbing work, insulation, drywall hanging and finishing, and painting. It's obviously a time consuming and costly process. Everyone can be helpful on this project; we need skilled folks, partially skilled, and many "willing helpers". This is a wonderful opportunity for the storm survivors of D'Iberville to welcome you - and what a privilege it is to serve them. These people were so grateful that we would "leave our lives" some 16 hours away and travel there to help them. On our last trips, we gained much more than we gave! They need our help!

DATES: We will depart Virginia Beach on Saturday, April 7 in a driving caravan, spend one night en route to arrive in D'Iberville late Sunday afternoon; we will depart D'Iberville on Saturday, April 14 to arrive in Virginia Beach late Sunday afternoon, April 15.

COSTS: Each volunteer will share the cost of gas for the trip and pay for their own meals and lodging en route. Lodging and meals in D'Iberville at the DVF camp are $10 per day per person. The estimated total cost per person for the trip is $250. BUILDING MATERIAL COSTS: Our goal is to seek contributions of $20,000 to buy necessary building materials and needed supplies.
Please prayerfully consider being a part of this vital rebuilding process. If you are unable to answer the call to physically serve, please consider making a financial contribution towards materials costs. Please contact Imrie Bowman to put your name on the sign-up sheet. Contributions may be put in the church offering clearly marked "April Katrina Rebuilding Project."
