We have exceed our goal by 108%! Still need to hear from 10.8% of our members!

First Presbyterian Church, a warm, traditional and well established church residing only a block from the ocean front, is enjoying a “New Beginning”. In April, we received a new minister whose leadership in the pulpit has been inspiring. He is committed to achieving the multiple objectives identified by our congregation over the last year to move our church forward. Two of the primary initiatives identified include the hiring of a full time Director of Christian Education and a full time Director of Youth Ministries. These positions will help revitalize our Sunday School and insure an attractive, engaging, and fun place for our growing youth ministry. These new positions as well as the normal caring and feeding of our church do not come without costs. Our proposed budget for the coming year is $955,000, representing a 9% increase over last year. This increase is almost entirely attributed to the two positions mentioned above. We need everyone’s help and support during this pledge season to insure these positions become a reality.

Our request for your pledges to be sent in as you arrive at your commitment has met with great early success as you can see by the number of names on the Victory Cup displayed in the narthex. The idea of this display is an attempt to raise awareness of the pledge process and to honor those who so faithfully give. Finally, through this month numerous volunteers will be reaching out to a number of the members of our congregation to hopefully make you more aware of some of the exciting things occurring at First Presbyterian and to ask for your financial assistance for the coming year. If you get a call, please welcome it - it would be great if you allowed the team into your home to discuss “Our New Beginning Together.”
