OUR HISTORY



First Presbyterian Church of Virginia Beach, with an active membership of over 500 families, has come a long, long way from the spring of 1921, when five women requested that a church be started. 
WHO ARE PRESBYTERIANS?
We take our name from the Greek word Presbuteros, which appears 72 times in the New Testament and means "elder". Presbyterians believe in the proclamation of the Gospel, a mission to do good in the world rooted in Christ's example, and to do so via an accountable form of church government.
